Woliz Secures $2.2M to Advance Neighborhood Retail Digitization in Morocco

Woliz has secured $2.2 million from Sanlam Maroc in a pre-seed funding round, aimed at strengthening its technological and organizational infrastructure sustainably.
The partnership aims to develop a comprehensive Moroccan platform for neighborhood retail digitization, enhancing its added value and supporting financial inclusion.
Yahia Chraibi, CEO of Sanlam Maroc, stated:
“Through our investment in Woliz, we confirm our practical commitment alongside a Moroccan platform that drives real transformation for neighborhood retailers, enhancing financial inclusion and fostering local innovation.”
Kamal El Hardouzi, Founder and CEO of Woliz, explained:
“Neighborhood retail is economically dense but under-technologized. Our ambition is to transform this fragmented network into a smart, connected system capable of creating value for all ecosystem participants.”
The new funding will support the platform’s field expansion and strengthen its technological infrastructure, with the potential to scale this model to other African markets.
