TopK raises $5.4M to redefine enterprise search engines for the AI era

Prague/San Francisco, June 2025 — TopK, a Czech-based startup pioneering AI-native enterprise search infrastructure, has secured $5.4 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by Earlybird Venture Capital, KAYA, and Irregular Expressions, with additional participation from angel investors.

Founded in 2024 by Marek Galovič and Jerguš Lejko, TopK is developing a unified search platform designed to overcome the limitations of fragmented data systems and outdated search frameworks. Their goal: to enable smart, precise, and scalable search experiences across diverse data types—structured, unstructured, and multimodal.

The cloud-native platform combines keyword search, vector search, and advanced filters in a customizable, domain-specific framework. This enables tailored search experiences across industries like e-commerce, finance, healthcare, and legal services.

TopK also plans to expand the platform’s capabilities to include natural language understanding (NLU) and support for unstructured and multimodal data, addressing the rising demand for intelligent, context-aware search.

While headquartered in San Francisco, the company conducts most of its R&D operations in Europe, capitalizing on technical talent in Rust, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. The team is actively hiring in Prague, seeking engineers passionate about building complex, scalable systems for the next generation of enterprise AI infrastructure.
