The Indus Valley Raises $17M Series B to Expand Healthy Cookware Business

The Indus Valley, the Indian manufacturer of toxin-free cookware and kitchen products, has secured $17 million in a Series B funding round led by Gaja Capital, with participation from existing investors DSG Consumer Partners, Rukam Capital, and The Chennai Angels.
The company will use the fresh capital to enhance product development, expand its presence across digital and offline retail channels, strengthen brand awareness, and introduce more healthy kitchen products to meet growing consumer demand.
Founded in 2016 by Jagadeesh Kumar and Madhumitha Uday Kumar, The Indus Valley manufactures cookware and kitchen essentials using cast iron, iron, and stainless steel instead of chemical non-stick coatings. Its portfolio includes cookware, pressure cookers, and a wide range of kitchen products designed as safer alternatives for consumers.
Jagadeesh Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of The Indus Valley, said:
"Our goal goes beyond manufacturing cookware. We are building a brand that offers safe, durable, and coating-free kitchen products, and this investment will help us expand our reach to a larger consumer base."
He added that the company aims to build a trusted kitchenware brand focused on safe, durable, and coating-free products while expanding its market reach.
Gopal Jain, Managing Partner at Gaja Capital, commented:
"Healthy cooking is still not a priority for many Indian households. The Indus Valley has built a strong business by offering high-quality cookware free from chemical coatings, making it a compelling long-term investment."
Meanwhile, Hariharan Premkumar, Managing Director and India Head at DSG Consumer Partners, said:
"The founders have successfully scaled the business from nearly INR 12 crore in revenue to around INR 200 crore with limited capital, and this new funding will support product development and distribution expansion."
The company says it has reached an annual revenue run rate of approximately INR 200 crore and aims to increase it to INR 1,000 crore by 2030. Its products are available through its website, e-commerce marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms, and offline retail stores, serving millions of households across India.
The funding comes as demand for healthier kitchen products continues to rise, driven by growing consumer awareness of food safety and increasing interest in alternatives to conventional cookware.
