Meta Acquires Manus AI to Accelerate Artificial Intelligence Innovation

Meta has announced the acquisition of Manus AI, a company specializing in general-purpose AI agents, as part of its massive investments in artificial intelligence. Manus, founded in China before relocating to Singapore, launched its first general AI agent earlier this year, capable of performing complex tasks such as market research, coding, and data analysis.

The company stated that the acquisition aims to accelerate AI innovation for businesses and integrate advanced automation into its consumer and enterprise products, including the Meta AI assistant. “Manus is already serving the daily needs of millions of users and businesses worldwide … We plan to scale this service to many more businesses,” Meta added.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the deal closed at over $2 billion, while Manus will continue offering its subscription services without disruption.

Xiao Hong, CEO of Manus, said: “Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made.”

This move aligns with Meta’s broader AI expansion strategy, including acquisitions of other specialized AI startups such as Scale AI and Limitless, aiming to acquire talent and accelerate the development of AI products.
