Dubai Strengthens Advanced Technology Investments with Strategic Commitment to Matter Venture Partners’ Second Fund

U.S.-based Matter Venture Partners, an investor focused on advanced technologies, has secured a strategic investment commitment from the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) for its second fund, which closed this month at $450 million.
The investment reflects Dubai’s efforts to connect its growing industrial ecosystem with leading global technology innovation networks, creating opportunities for the flow of manufacturing technologies, robotics, and smart infrastructure into the local market.
Matter Venture Partners focuses on supporting deep-tech companies developing semiconductors, robotics, advanced manufacturing tools, and artificial intelligence solutions, particularly at stages that require significant capital and face long-term technical challenges that traditional venture capital can be difficult to cover.
The fund is backed by a group of major industrial investors globally, including ASML, TSMC, Japan Development Bank, Kleiner Perkins, and Quanta Computer, reflecting strong confidence in Matter’s team and investment approach.
DFDF’s participation in the fund reflects Dubai’s strategic direction to transform its industrial sector into a global hub through initiatives including the Dubai Robotics and Automation Program, which targets increasing the robotics sector’s contribution to GDP to 9% by 2032, as well as “Operation 300bn,” which aims to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to AED 300 billion by 2031.
The fund aims to accelerate access to advanced technologies in the UAE, facilitate knowledge transfer, and localize innovation through new projects launched from Dubai.
