DoorDash Exits Operations in Four Countries to Focus on High-Value Markets

DoorDash, one of the world’s leading food delivery companies, announced it will exit four countries: Qatar, Japan, Singapore, and Uzbekistan, as part of a comprehensive review of its international strategy.
The decision follows a multi-month evaluation of operational conditions in each market, with a commitment to support local teams and partners during an orderly transition.
The Qatari market is among the most competitive in the Gulf, dominated by Talabat (part of Delivery Hero), which has strong logistics infrastructure and established relationships with restaurants and consumers, making it challenging for new entrants to penetrate without significant investment, despite expected growth through 2027.
The decision did not negatively affect DoorDash’s financial guidance; the company’s share price rose following the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the strategy of focusing on markets that enable leadership and sustainable profitability.
