DataCamp Acquires Optima to Empower AI-Native Learning and Accelerate Data Education in the UAE

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – DataCamp, the leading global learning platform for data and AI skills, has announced the acquisition of Optima, a Dubai-based AI-native learning company. Under the acquisition, Yusuf Saber, founder and CEO of Optima, will join DataCamp as Chief AI Officer, with all Optima employees transitioning into DataCamp.
Optima’s adaptive AI-powered learning system personalizes each lesson in real time—adjusting pacing, concept delivery, and feedback to match each learner’s profile. Both Optima and DataCamp platforms are trusted by leading Middle Eastern tech brands such as Talabat and Careem, and major enterprises like ADQ, empowering them to stay ahead of the rapid evolution of AI and data-driven transformation.
Optima’s technology already powers core curriculum within DataCamp, and premium users can experience AI-native learning across many flagship courses. Over the next six months, DataCamp will integrate Optima technology across its platform, further expanding its extensive library and introducing next-generation curricula.
“Optima was built in the UAE to embed intelligence directly into the learning experience,” said Yusuf Saber, founder and CEO of Optima. “By integrating Optima’s AI-native approach into DataCamp’s global platform—and by providing free access to government employees, educators, and students—we can set a new standard for digital learning in the UAE.”
The acquisition aligns with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which focuses on developing local talent and advancing upskilling initiatives across all sectors. As part of this mission, DataCamp will launch its Classrooms program in the UAE, offering free access to over 500 courses spanning Python, SQL, Power BI, Java, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing. Moreover, DataCamp will provide its popular Intro to AI course free for six months to UAE Government employees and students.
“DataCamp is redefining the future of online learning,” said Jonathan Cornellisen, co-founder and CEO of DataCamp. “The field of data and AI is advancing faster than ever, and we’re committed to human-centered, adaptive learning experiences that help individuals and organizations thrive. With the Optima team on board, we’re more capable than ever of transforming how enterprises elevate their people’s skills.”
With a strong financial outlook, DataCamp is cashflow positive and expected to surpass $100 million in annual recurring revenue by 2026. The platform now supports over 18 million learners and 6,000 enterprise clients, including Google, Uber, Nike, Pfizer, and Roche, reflecting its growing dominance in the global EdTech and AI learning ecosystem.
