Buluttan Advances AI-Powered Weather Intelligence to Expand Across Europe and the Middle East

Founded in 2022 by Güven Bölükbaşı, Gökmen Güven, and Mehmet Kıral, inspired by the passion passed on by Eren Kısmet, Buluttan develops location-specific digital weather forecasting and artificial intelligence models with high temporal and geographical resolution, ensuring that operational decision-making processes rely on the most reliable data available.

The technology developed by Buluttan delivers a significant impact, particularly across industries highly sensitive to atmospheric conditions.

Buluttan’s SaaS-based weather intelligence solutions provide weather-resilient decision support systems for air, land, and maritime transportation, as well as logistics operations, enhancing the safety of life, assets, and operations, while also delivering efficiency gains and cost savings through improved planning.
In the renewable energy sector, the company offers efficiency and cost advantages through energy-market-focused products, primarily including production forecasting for wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants.

Buluttan is also the only private meteorology company collaborating with Europe’s leading meteorological institutions, such as Meteo France and MeteoSwiss, within EU Horizon WeatherGenerator, Europe’s largest meteorological consortium, established to develop a foundational artificial intelligence atmospheric model.

As one of the limited number of startups operating in this field, Buluttan aims to accelerate its growth in Turkey, while strengthening its regional presence through expansion into European and Middle Eastern markets.

Commenting on the investment, Gökmen Güven, Co-Founder of Buluttan, stated:

“Atmospheric sciences are undergoing a significant transformation driven by artificial intelligence. At Buluttan, we have a very strong deep-tech team producing globally impactful technologies from Turkey. This investment reinforces our vision of scaling our weather intelligence technology on a global level. Together with our partners, we aim to take a leading role in climate technologies and contribute to a more sustainable future.”

Sanem Tatlıdil Özal, Partner at Arya VC, added:

“Meteorological data is no longer merely a supporting element across many industries; it is becoming a direct operational decision input. What differentiates Buluttan is its ability to transform weather forecasting from abstract data into a scalable and actionable intelligence layer.”

Mustafa Keçeli, Fund Manager at APY Ventures, commented:

“With their strong technical team and institutional partnerships across Europe, we believe Buluttan is building a globally scalable technology in the field of weather intelligence. We are pleased to be contributing to this journey.”
