Azoma Raises $4M in Pre-Series A to Advance Generative Engine Optimization

London-based Azoma, a generative engine optimization (GEO) platform for e-commerce, announced that it has raised $4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round. Investors included Ignite Ventures, Rank Ventures, eBay Ventures x Techstars, Twinpath, and MaRS IAF, in addition to several angel investors from the retail and AI sectors. The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate growth and expansion.

Azoma provides an integrated GEO and brand discovery platform powered by artificial intelligence, enabling brands to monitor, analyze, and optimize their presence across AI-driven search engines and conversational platforms. The company has also developed patented technologies that support performance analysis and content optimization for AI search visibility.

Azoma has previously worked with leading brands including Mars, Colgate, Zappos, P&G, Reckitt, Beiersdorf, and Canadian Tire.

Speaking to Business Insider, Max Sinclair, CEO and cofounder of Azoma, said:
“We’re helping the world’s most recognizable brands to stay relevant in the era of AI search.”

Founded in 2022, Azoma has developed two patented solutions: a “digital twin” that simulates how brands appear in AI chatbot responses, and a second solution that generates optimized content designed to surface more effectively in AI-driven search results.

Sinclair noted that Azoma operates as a SaaS platform, charging brands on a per-use basis and retailers by product categories. The company achieved profitability earlier this year.

The GEO and answer engine optimization market remains young and highly competitive, with the rules still being shaped as AI search adoption evolves. Sinclair highlighted that large language models operate differently from traditional search technologies, making GEO “a totally new technology.”

Azoma—cofounded by Timur Luguev, who holds a Ph.D. in computer science—plans to invest the new funding in R&D and expand its commercial operations through new hires in sales and customer success.
