Aramco Ventures Expands into Europe with New Paris Office

Aramco Ventures, the venture capital arm of Aramco, has announced plans to open a new office in Paris in 2026, marking a strategic expansion that reinforces the company’s commitment to global innovation and its long-term direction toward business diversification and energy transformation. With a strong mandate to back next-generation technologies, Aramco Ventures continues to position itself at the forefront of transformative investment worldwide.

Backed by over $7 billion in allocated capital, Aramco Ventures plays a central role in identifying and investing in cutting-edge startups and advanced technology solutions. The Paris office will serve as a key gateway into France and Europe’s vibrant innovation ecosystem, which is internationally recognized for its leadership in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, industrial digitization, and quantum computing.

France is rapidly emerging as one of the EU’s most dynamic hubs for AI and quantum technologies, supported by ambitious national initiatives and a maturing ecosystem of researchers, universities, and investors. Institutions such as Paris-Saclay University, Europe’s top-ranked center for mathematics, physics, and engineering, and innovation platforms like Station F, the world’s largest start-up campus, further solidify France as a prime location for global technology investment.

Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation and Aramco Ventures Chairman, stated:
“Aramco is harnessing advanced technologies that have potential to solve some of the world’s toughest problems… Through the new office in Paris, Aramco Ventures will extend its international footprint…”

Aramco already maintains a strong presence in France through its fuel research center in Paris, focusing on energy, transportation, and environmental innovation. The company’s venture programs have also backed two French start-ups: Pasqal, a pioneer in quantum computing, and Prophesee, a developer of a neuromorphic vision platform designed to enhance video processing systems. Through the Paris office, Aramco Ventures aims to deepen collaboration with founders, institutions, and investors while scaling breakthrough technologies across AI, quantum, deeptech, and sustainability sectors.
