Wippi Raises $1.2M Seed Round to Advance Screen-Free Conversational AI for Children

Indian children’s technology startup Wippi has raised $1.2 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its screen-free, conversational products designed for young children.
The funding round was led by 12 Flags, with participation from Warmup Ventures, Ventana Ventures and Ruvento Ventures. Wippi plans to use the capital to strengthen its proprietary voice AI technology, expand its engineering and artificial intelligence teams, and accelerate product development.
The company also plans to scale manufacturing in India and expand its direct-to-consumer business. Over the next 12 months, Wippi aims to reach more than 15,000 families, while introducing new characters, languages and original content to its platform.
Building Screen-Free AI Experiences for Children
Founded by Rishabh Singhi and Siddhartha Jain, Wippi develops interactive storytelling products that combine voice AI with physical and audio-based experiences.
Its platform includes Character Cards, illustrated storybooks and Wippi Radio, enabling children to interact with stories without relying on conventional screens.
Children can engage with narrators and characters including Ram, Krishna, Alice, Cinderella and Aladdin. Instead of simply listening to predetermined stories, they can ask questions, make choices and influence how narratives develop.
Wippi says its approach is designed to make storytelling more personalized and interactive while encouraging imagination, play and learning.
Co-founder Rishabh Singhi said artificial intelligence is likely to become a defining technology for today’s generation of children, making the nature of their earliest interactions with the technology particularly important.
Singhi said Wippi wants those experiences to encourage curiosity, learning and imagination while giving parents confidence in how their children engage with AI. The new funding will allow the company to accelerate that strategy and bring its products to more families.
Investors Back a Different Approach to Children’s AI
Rajat Agarwal, Partner and MD at 12 Flags, said parents increasingly face the challenge of introducing AI into children’s lives while simultaneously managing screen time.
He said Wippi’s combination of screen-free interaction and AI offers an alternative centered on creativity and companionship rather than passive consumption.
This approach also places additional demands on the underlying technology. Wippi is developing its proprietary AI capabilities specifically around products intended for children, with safety and product design forming part of its development strategy.
Siddhartha Jain, co-founder and CEO of Wippi, said building artificial intelligence for children requires different standards across technology, safety and design.
The funding, he said, will enable Wippi to strengthen its proprietary AI platform, increase its engineering capabilities and continue developing products in India for both domestic and international families.
Scaling Technology, Manufacturing and Content
Alongside its AI investments, Wippi plans to increase manufacturing capacity in India as it scales its direct-to-consumer operations.
Expanding its content library will also form part of the company’s strategy. Wippi intends to introduce additional characters, languages and original stories, giving children more ways to interact with its conversational platform.
The new funding provides Wippi with additional resources to advance its screen-free conversational AI approach and expand both the technology behind its interactions and the physical products through which children access them.
