UAE's Maalexi Raises $2.8 Million Led by Saudi's Tawuniya to Expand AgriFinTech Solutions

UAE-based Maalexi, an AgriFinTech startup, has secured $2.8 million in an oversubscribed funding round led by Saudi Arabia's Tawuniya, with participation from Global Ventures. The investment comes as the company prepares for its upcoming Series A round and advances the expansion of its operating model across agricultural commodities markets.
Founded in 2021 by Dr. Azzam Pasha and Rohit Majhi, Maalexi is focused on improving transparency in agricultural trade through a platform powered by artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technology. The company provides commodity verification and risk management solutions while facilitating trading and settlement across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, and Europe through its Maalexi Agricultural Assets Token Exchange (MAATEX) platform.
Maalexi's business model centers on building the first regulated marketplace for real-world agricultural assets, addressing fragmented markets, verification challenges, and the lack of standardized processes. The newly raised capital will be used to expand the platform's regulatory infrastructure and strengthen transparency and efficiency in global agricultural asset trading through the tokenization of real-world assets.
The funding follows another major milestone for the company. In August 2025, Maalexi secured a Shariah-compliant credit facility of up to $20 million from Amwal Capital Partner, supporting its expansion plans and the development of transparent, regulation-aligned asset exchange solutions for international markets.
