Tourism Development Fund backs foreign investment in Hido App

The Tourism Development Fund (TDF) has announced its support for the investment round of Hido, a Saudi tourism platform that secured foreign investment from Ben Harburg, owner of the Alkholood Saudi Club, alongside investment from Shaddah Design Studio.

The funding round reflects growing momentum in developing digital tourism solutions in Saudi Arabia, as Hido continues to position itself as a platform connecting visitors with authentic, community-driven cultural experiences.

Hido is a specialized tourism application in Saudi Arabia that enables travelers to book cultural and human-centered experiences offered by local guides, enthusiasts, adventurers, and host families, aiming to provide deeper access to Saudi daily life and culture.

The platform also offers a wide range of services, including guided tours with Saudi hosts, homestays in local houses and farms, as well as interactive activities such as hiking, culinary experiences, and participation in cultural and social events.

Hido currently hosts more than 1,000 guides, enthusiasts, and host families, provides over 350 job opportunities, and features more than 45 tourism experiences and services rooted in Saudi heritage, highlighting the rapid growth of experience-based tourism and the rising role of local innovation in the sector.
