Spiritus, a U.S.-based climate technology company specializing in Direct Air Capture (DAC), has announced the closure of a $30 million Series A funding round led by Aramco Ventures, with participation from Khosla Ventures, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, and TDK Ventures.

The new funding will accelerate work on three key facilities aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of large-scale carbon capture and removal.

These include a pilot facility in New Mexico, an industrial-scale carbon removal site with a capacity of 1,000 tons, and a full-scale carbon facility designed to capture 2 megatons of CO₂ annually, making it one of the largest carbon removal facilities in the U.S.

Charles Cadieu, CEO and Co-Founder of Spiritus, stated, “There is growing demand for data centers and heavy industries, but the accompanying carbon emissions cannot be ignored. DAC technology makes large-scale carbon removal accessible.”

Bruce Niven, Executive Director of Strategic Ventures at Aramco Ventures, added: “Direct air capture has the potential to play a key role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors. We are excited to partner with Spiritus to bring this critical technology to market.”
