Hero Seguros Raises $7M to Accelerate Latin America Expansion

Hero Seguros, a Brazil-based insurtech company, has raised $7 million in its first funding round, led by Headline XP with participation from Actyus. The funding marks a key step in the company’s plan to expand beyond Brazil into broader Latin American markets.

The capital will support market expansion and product diversification, as investor interest continues to grow in digital insurance platforms that enhance distribution efficiency and customer experience.

Scaling a Digital-First Insurance Model

Hero Seguros operates under a Managing General Agent (MGA) structure, enabling it to design and distribute insurance products while leveraging underwriting partnerships. Its B2B2C digital distribution model connects insurers with end customers through intermediaries.

The company has built partnerships with institutions such as BTG and Copastur, alongside a network of approximately 5,000 agencies, enabling scalable customer reach with a streamlined purchasing experience.

A core component of its operations is Hero Assist, an in-house unit managing claims and customer support, ensuring control over service quality and data-driven optimization.

Strategic Expansion and Product Diversification

The newly raised funding will fuel expansion into Latin America, where demand for travel insurance is rebounding. The company aims to replicate its Brazil model across new markets.

Hero Seguros is also expanding beyond travel insurance into financial protection and extended warranties, which already account for 25% of its premium volume.

Leadership and Execution Strength

Founded by Guilherme Wroclawski and Raphael Swierczynski, the company benefits from deep entrepreneurial and industry expertise, enabling it to achieve early profitability.

Strong Market Validation

  • Nearly 15% market share in Brazil’s travel insurance segment
  • Over 4 million policyholders
  • Approximately $58 million in premiums generated in the past year
  • High customer satisfaction, including RA1000 certification

Outlook

Hero Seguros is positioning itself as a technology-driven insurance platform focused on simplifying both distribution and claims management. Its next phase will depend on its ability to scale across diverse markets while maintaining service quality.
