Computis Raises €2M in Pre-Seed Funding to Transform SME Accounting

Italian startup Computis, founded in 2026, has raised €2 million in a pre-seed round led by Techshop Capital, with participation from Heartfelt, Zanichelli Venture, Vento, Alecla7, Alpha Ventures, Moonstone, and P3Ventures.

Computis is seeking to reposition accounting for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from a compliance-focused function into a tool for decision-making. Its platform automates key processes including document collection, foreign supplier invoice recovery, bank reconciliation, and invoicing.

The company is addressing a common challenge for SMEs: gaining a clear view of their financial position only after a reporting period has ended. Computis combines software and automation with an internal operations team and a network of independent partner accountants to provide business owners with continuous visibility into their financial position.

The company was founded by Enrico Nicosia, Chief Executive Officer; Riccardo Donatelli, Chief Revenue Officer; and Leonardo Drici, Chief Product and Technology Officer. The founders previously worked together at Jet HR and bring experience from Spendesk, Amazon, Deliveroo, and Eurostar.

Nicosia said the goal is not to "reinvent accounting" but to use technology to reduce manual work and turn data into information available when decisions are made. "Many entrepreneurs are still used to discovering how their company is really doing when the numbers arrive at the end of the month, quarter, or even year," he said, translated from Italian.

The investment also marks another step beyond traditional EdTech for Zanichelli Venture, the corporate venture arm of the Bologna-based publishing group. It follows recent investments in Gyver, a platform for electricians and technicians, and Gamindo, which uses gamification for corporate training.

Computis reflects a broader focus on technologies that influence how people work and make decisions, while its platform seeks to bring real-time financial visibility—once more commonly associated with structured firms—to smaller businesses.
