AILA Raises $3 Million in Pre-Series A to Scale AI-Powered Personalized Learning

Saudi EdTech company AILA has raised $3 million in a Pre-Series A funding round to expand its AI-powered personalized learning solutions across regional and international markets.

The round was led by Rua Growth Fund, with participation from Jo Academy, 500 Global, Bunat VC, and Fikr Ventures. Jordan-based EdTech company Jo Academy joined the round as a strategic investor, bringing its experience in education and digital learning as AILA prepares for its next stage of regional growth.

Founded in Saudi Arabia, AILA develops AI-powered education technology that identifies individual learning gaps and personalizes learning and practice based on each student’s progress. Its platform also provides teachers and school leaders with insights into student performance, helping educators identify areas requiring additional support and tailor learning accordingly.

Building AI-Native Learning Solutions from Saudi Arabia

AILA’s current product portfolio includes AILA Tests, an AI-native platform providing personalized exam preparation for schools, and AILA Labs, the company’s dedicated research and development hub for developing and testing new AI-powered education technologies.

The company plans to deploy the new capital across three main areas: entering new regional and international markets, further developing its AI-powered learning capabilities, and reaching more students, educators, schools and education systems.

“This investment lets us bring personalized, AI-native learning to more students at a moment when education systems across the region are rethinking what’s possible with technology,” said Yousef Alsayed, CEO of AILA.

AILA is particularly focused on developing learning experiences designed specifically for students in the region rather than adapting products originally developed for other markets.

Alaa Jarrar, CEO of Jo Academy, said Arabic-speaking students need educational experiences built specifically for them rather than simply translated into Arabic, describing AILA as one of the companies developing AI-native education technology from within the region.

Jarrar also highlighted AILA’s traction with Saudi schools as evidence of the company’s product-market fit.

Rua Growth Fund Leads AILA’s Pre-Series A

For lead investor Rua Growth Fund, AILA’s ability to transform assessment data into practical insights for teachers and personalized practice for students was a key factor behind the investment.

“AILA is building an AI-native assessment platform that helps schools and teachers understand each student’s proficiency, identify learning gaps, and focus support where it is needed most,” said Turki Aljoaib, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Rua Growth Fund.

“We were drawn to the team’s ability to turn assessment data into actionable insights for educators and targeted practice for students,” he added.

Rua Growth Fund will support Yousef Alsayed, Abdulaziz, and the wider AILA team as the company scales its Saudi-developed education technology across the region and into international markets.

Beyond capital, AILA expects its new investor group to provide networks, market expertise and strategic support as it enters new markets and develops partnerships across the education sector.

The company ultimately aims to establish itself as a leading AI-native education platform, making personalized learning accessible to students at scale while providing educators and education systems with better tools to understand and improve learning outcomes.
