Dr. Munir Eldesouki, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), is a distinguished leader at the forefront of Saudi Arabia’s scientific and technological advancement. With over 23 years of experience spanning government, research and development, and innovation, he has been instrumental in shaping national strategies, guiding policy implementation, and leading transformative initiatives across multiple sectors. Dr. Eldesouki has held senior government positions, including Assistant Minister and Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, where he contributed to the Kingdom’s digital transformation and Vision 2030 programs. Beyond government service, he has directed major research institutes and programs in nanotechnology, photonics, and advanced materials, collaborating with international partners from the US, UK, Switzerland, Canada, China, South Africa, and Belarus. His leadership extends to numerous national and global boards, including the Global Research Council, Saudi Space Agency, and the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Saudi Arabia, reflecting his commitment to fostering innovation ecosystems, advancing scientific research, and supporting the commercialization of technology to strengthen the Kingdom’s knowledge-based economy.
