Uber has announced its acquisition of an 85% stake in Turkish food delivery platform Trendyol GO for approximately $700 million in cash, according to a securities filing.
The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory approval. Uber stated the transaction is expected to be accretive to its growth once finalized.
“Uber and Trendyol GO coming together will elevate the delivery sector in Türkiye for consumers, couriers, restaurants and retailers, especially small and family-owned businesses,” said Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. “This deal reflects our long-term commitment to Türkiye. We’re incredibly impressed with what the Trendyol GO team has built, and we’re excited to continue that strong momentum across the country.”
Founded in 2010, Trendyol GO is operated by Turkey’s e-commerce giant Trendyol, which is majority-owned by Chinese tech powerhouse Alibaba. The platform currently includes around 90,000 restaurants and 19,000 couriers nationwide.
In 2024, Trendyol GO completed over 200 million deliveries, generating $2 billion in gross bookings, a 50% year-over-year increase, according to Uber’s filing.
The news comes just ahead of Uber’s Q1 earnings announcement, where it is expected to report earnings per share of $0.51 on $11.6 billion in revenue, according to StreetAccount estimates.
