Basata Holding for Financial Payments S.A.E., Egypt’s leading e-payment services provider, announced plans to invest approximately USD 7 million in 2026 as part of its strategy to strengthen its market position and pursue regional growth. The company revealed that it is currently evaluating acquisition opportunities, with final decisions expected before the end of this year.
As part of its diversification strategy, Karim Shehata, CEO of Basata Holding, confirmed that the company is preparing to launch new investment services through funds in collaboration with its sister and subsidiary companies. These services have reached the final stages of regulatory approvals and are expected to be fully launched before the end of the current fiscal year, highlighting Basata’s commitment to delivering comprehensive financial solutions that go beyond payments.
Basata currently serves more than 120,000 merchants daily and aims to expand this figure to 150,000 merchants by year-end, reflecting its confidence in growing its customer base and reinforcing its role as a key player in Egypt’s digital payments sector.
Shehata also revealed the company’s regional expansion plans through its stake in Jordan’s Madfoatcom, which is set to enter the Saudi market before year-end. Madfoatcom is also preparing to launch operations in Morocco and Kurdistan within the same timeframe, further positioning Basata as a regional force in fintech.
It is worth noting that Basata’s integrated financial ecosystem includes digital payments, POS transactions, and the Basata Payment Card, alongside merchant financing and lending services offered through its sister entities. The company has recorded a 40% growth in Total Payment Value (TPV) over the past three years, underlining the success of its growth strategy and leadership in the fintech sector.
