During the closing conference of the GREAT FUTURES initiative, the launch of two investment funds was announced to support startups in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East and North Africa, as part of the broader investment agreements between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
Lexham Partners, a London-based venture capital and growth investment firm, in partnership with anb capital, the investment arm of Arab National Bank, has introduced the first institutional growth fund in the MENA region valued at $200 million, aimed at supporting promising technology companies in their growth stage.
Later this year, Salica Investments, a London-based venture capital firm, will launch its second fund, Salica Oryx, valued at $75 million, building on the success of its first fund and strengthening its regional impact across MENA.
It is noteworthy that in 2021, the company had launched its first Salica Oryx Fund valued at USD 50 million, with 50% allocated to Saudi investments and exclusively focused on top early-stage technology companies. Thirteen portfolio companies from this fund already maintain a commercial presence and operational activities in Saudi Arabia.
