Darwin AI, a fast-growing technology company that develops sales and customer support agents powered by artificial intelligence for midmarket businesses across Latin America, has successfully raised $4.5 million in a seed funding round led by Base10 Partners, according to CEO Lautaro Schiaffino, who spoke with Axios Pro.
The company’s mission is to transform how businesses interact with their customers by leveraging agentic AI that works hand-in-hand with human teams to qualify and route sales leads, streamline workflows, and resolve customer inquiries in real time. By automating these critical functions, Darwin AI enables companies to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and ultimately deliver a faster and more personalized customer experience.
A key differentiator of Darwin AI’s offering is its ability to integrate seamlessly with WhatsApp, Instagram, and voice calls, three of the most widely used communication channels across Latin America. This ensures that companies can meet customers exactly where they are, enhancing engagement and boosting conversion rates.
Since its founding in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2023, Darwin AI has rapidly gained traction, already surpassing $2 million in annual bookings across 20 countries in the region. The strong adoption reflects both the growing demand for AI-powered solutions in customer-facing operations and the company’s ability to scale quickly across diverse markets.
With the close of this latest seed round, Darwin AI’s total funding has now reached $7 million. Looking ahead, Schiaffino revealed that the company is preparing to raise a Series A round within the next 12 months to further accelerate growth, expand its team, and solidify its presence as a leading AI solutions provider in Latin America’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
