Doha is preparing to host the inaugural edition of MWC25 this November, reflecting Qatar’s ambition to position itself as a leading hub for technological innovation and the telecommunications industry.
Organizers confirmed the inclusion of Smart City Expo – the world’s largest event dedicated to urban innovation – as part of MWC25, alongside the GSMA Digital Leaders Programme, which will be held in the MENA region for the first time following successful editions in Barcelona and Shanghai.
The exhibition will span three main halls at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), featuring major players such as Google, Nokia, Cisco Mannai, Turkcell, VEON, and Qatar University, in addition to several regional and international institutions.
Keynote sessions will feature top global tech leaders, including:
- Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics
- Deemah AlYahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO)
- Hatem Dowidar, Group CEO of e&
- Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, Group CEO of Ooredoo
- Kaan Terzioğlu, Group CEO of VEON
The event will serve as a platform for innovation and collaboration, hosting:
- 4YFN, a dedicated platform for tech startups.
- The GSMA Ministerial Programme, which will bring together ministers and policymakers from across the globe to shape the region’s digital future.
MWC25 Doha will spotlight three major themes:
- AI Nexus
- Intelligent Economies
- Connected Industries
These themes will be explored through specialized summits on AI-driven economies, 5G networks, cybersecurity, satellite technologies, fintech and digital commerce, smart mobility, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Scheduled for 25–26 November 2025 at the DECC, the event will be a pivotal platform shaping the future of connectivity and the digital economy in MENA, reinforcing Qatar’s growing role as a hub for innovation and emerging technologies.
