Uncovered Fund and Monex Ventures have announced the launch of a $20 million venture capital fund named the Uncovered Monex Africa Investment Partnership, aimed at backing early-stage startups across the Middle East and Africa.
The fund will invest up to $2 million per company in four key sectors: fintech, mobility, logistics & distribution, and sustainability. Focus areas include mobile payments, microlending, digital retail, agri-tech, and electric mobility.
Beyond capital, the fund seeks to connect startups in MENA and Africa with leading Japanese corporations, creating collaboration channels, facilitating access to the Japanese market, expertise, and strategic partnerships. At the same time, it opens opportunities for Japanese companies to tap into the region’s fast-growing markets.
