Perle, a Web3-enabled AI data training platform, has secured $9 million in a seed funding round led by Framework Ventures, bringing its total funding across pre-seed and seed stages to $17.5 million.
Founded by Egyptian entrepreneur Ahmed Rashad, a graduate of Ain Shams University, the company aims to leverage human knowledge to improve AI model training and evaluation.
With the fresh capital, Perle is launching Perle Labs, a digital ecosystem that combines blockchain infrastructure with incentive-based design, offering transparent payments, direct attribution via blockchain, and verifiable work records — enabling global participation and significantly enhancing data quality at scale.
Ahmed Rashad, CEO of Perle, highlighted that even the most advanced AI models still struggle with rare, ambiguous, or context-specific scenarios.
According to Perle’s benchmark study, high-quality human-managed annotations outperformed Amazon Rekognition by over 70%, proving that precise human insight is essential to boost AI performance.
Perle Labs is dedicated to building a global community of data contributors, expanding access to diverse, documented datasets, rewarding participants, and providing immutable proof of work on the blockchain. This decentralized model aims to reduce bias, improve AI accuracy, and provide developers and enterprises with higher-quality, more reliable data, meeting the demands of the rapidly growing global AI market.
