Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy has officially launched the “Taqatech Accelerator”, a business acceleration program developed in partnership with The Garage, a leading startup and innovation platform based in Riyadh.
This strategic initiative aims to support 60 startups over three years, divided into three cohorts of 20 startups each, with each cycle lasting between 6 to 12 months. The program follows a four-phase structure: exploration and selection, acceleration, pilot project implementation, and investment rounds.
Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz stated: “We aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for emerging energy technologies, by empowering local startups to develop innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, support economic diversification, and achieve environmental sustainability.”
The accelerator targets startups working on energy efficiency, sustainability, local content development, and clean energy solutions, while offering a comprehensive support model through technical mentorship and investor networking. It also contributes to energy security, infrastructure resilience, and green technology advancement.
By engaging energy corporations, universities, and specialized R&D centers, the program reinforces collaboration between the private sector and government to drive economic growth and technology localization in the energy domain.
