The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia has launched “Tamkeen,” a financial incentive program designed to support employee retention in the Kingdom’s technology and telecommunications sectors.

The initiative will provide up to SAR 86,000 per employee, distributed over three phases within 18 months, to encourage talent stability and long-term commitment.

  • In the first phase, employees receive SAR 20,000 after completing 6 months.
  • In the second phase, SAR 36,000 is awarded upon reaching 12 months.
  • The final phase delivers SAR 30,000 after 18 months of continued employment.

Tamkeen reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting SMEs and startups while contributing to job creation and long-term economic development in the digital sector.

The program is a key component of the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), which is focused on transforming Saudi Arabia into a regional hub for tech innovation and investment. NTDP aims to:

  • Add SAR 11.2 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP
  • Create over 17,000 new technology jobs

Through a range of financial and knowledge-based interventions, NTDP works in collaboration with ecosystem partners to strengthen the technology sector, empower local companies, and encourage global partnerships that foster innovation and sustainability.
