Saudi venture capital firm Impact46 has announced its participation in a $5 million seed round for Spekter Games Inc., alongside a roster of global investors including a16z Speedrun, London Venture Partners, BRV Capital, Chamaeleon, Accelerator Ventures, Versus Ventures, and Alumni Ventures.
Spekter Games, a US-based startup, is developing the next generation of Web3-powered social games, with a specific focus on Telegram-based gameplay. The company’s mission is to build games that offer a seamless, enjoyable user experience while embedding blockchain-powered rewards in the background.
This investment comes in tandem with the official launch of Spekter Agency, the company’s first game. Spekter Agency is a rogue-lite action game featuring arcade-style mechanics and unobtrusive Web3 integrations—ensuring that players enjoy fast-paced gameplay without having to understand or interact with blockchain elements.
“Our goal is to build games people love to play—not just for the rewards,” said Taehoon Kim (TK), founder and CEO of Spekter Games. “Web3 incentives can increase retention and reach, but they should never come at the cost of fun.”
Built on Telegram Mini Apps, the game benefits from Telegram’s infrastructure, including embedded crypto wallets, enabling fast onboarding and simplified in-game transactions. This approach reduces friction for non-crypto-native users and expands accessibility for mainstream audiences.
TK, who previously founded nWay—a studio that surpassed 100 million downloads before being acquired by Animoca Brands—brings over 20 years of experience in both Web2 and Web3 gaming. He has also partnered with major Web3 players like Yuga Labs and Dapper Labs.
This investment aligns with Impact46’s growing focus on the gaming sector. The firm recently launched a SAR 150 million gaming fund to support emerging gaming technologies and developers across Saudi Arabia and beyond.
