SAN FRANCISCO, June 12, 2025 – Ellipsis Health, the pioneer in emotionally intelligent AI for healthcare, has announced the close of its $45 million Series A funding round, led by Salesforce, Khosla Ventures, and CVS Health Ventures, with continued support from existing investors including Mitsui Global Investment, Collier, E12, and AME Cloud Ventures.
The funding will accelerate adoption of Sage, Ellipsis Health’s AI Care Manager, which supports patients with complex physical, behavioral, and social needs—those who drive the majority of healthcare costs.
Sage leverages the patented “Empathy Engine,” trained on millions of real clinical calls, to provide proactive, emotionally aware support that expands staffing capacity and reduces operational costs.
Unlike traditional AI voice assistants, Sage adapts its tone and approach based on a patient’s emotional and mental state, ensuring engagement and behavior change. It integrates directly into Salesforce Health Cloud workflows, streamlining care coordination and enhancing patient outcomes.
Ellipsis Health’s Sage combines emotional intelligence from real patient conversations with Salesforce’s workflow tools, representing a significant leap in patient-centered, scalable AI care,” said Amit Khanna, SVP at Salesforce.
Vijay Patel of CVS Health Ventures added: “We see Ellipsis leading the way by merging conversational and agentic AI with strong clinical foundations.”
Hal Paz, from Khosla Ventures, emphasized: “Sage’s emotionally intelligent, context-aware care helps reduce clinician burnout while improving patient support.”
With this funding, Ellipsis will expand AI capabilities, strengthen clinical integration, and broaden Sage’s availability across healthcare systems and payers.
We’ve built the most emotionally intelligent AI Care Manager in the world,” said Mainul Mondal, CEO of Ellipsis Health. “This investment will help us scale access to compassionate, AI-driven care where and when patients need it most.”
