Heron Power, an initiative focused on developing energy infrastructure, announced that it has secured a $38 million investment in its Series A funding round, led by Capricorn Investment Group.

The investment round also included participation from prominent investors such as Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Impact Energy Partners, Gigascale Capital, Powerhouse Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, along with Tesla co-founder JB Straubel and former Tesla CFO Zach Kirkhorn.

With this new capital injection, the total investment received by Heron Power has reached $43 million. According to the company, the funds will accelerate its mission to transform power grid infrastructure through cutting-edge technologies.

Founded in the United States by Drew Baglino, a long-time Tesla executive, Heron Power focuses on solid-state transformers, which are faster and more compact than the analog models that have been in use for over a century.

The initiative aims to deliver cheaper, faster, and smarter hardware solutions to connect renewable energy sources and data centers to the power grid—redefining the future of energy infrastructure
