BEIJING – May 13, 2025– Chinese tech giant Meituan has officially announced the launch of its food delivery brand Keeta in Brazil, backed by a bold $1 billion investment over the next five years.

The announcement was made during the China-Brazil Business Seminar in Beijing, in the presence of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

This move marks Meituan’s latest global expansion following Keeta’s successful entry into Hong Kong in 2023 and Saudi Arabia in 2024. The expansion into Latin America reflects the company’s vision to replicate its tech-driven ecosystem worldwide.

We are looking forward to bringing Keeta to Brazil, improving the consumer experience, helping our restaurant partners grow their business, and providing delivery opportunities for couriers,” said Xing WANG 王兴, Founder and CEO of Meituan.
Brazil is such a large market with great potential, and we are thrilled to contribute to economic growth and user choice.

The investment is expected to create thousands of jobs and support digital transformation for local restaurants and SMEs through Keeta’s full suite of tools, leveraging Meituan’s 15 years of operational expertise.

Keeta will compete with major local players like iFood and Rappi, entering a dynamic and competitive market with a technology-first approach and localized operations.
