RIYADH – May 13, 2025: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a global leader in connected intelligent computing, and HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia’s national AI champion, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a strategic collaboration focused on next-generation AI data centers, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud-to-edge AI services across the Kingdom and globally.

The MoU was signed during the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh, coinciding with the official visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the Kingdom as part of a regional tour including Qatar and the UAE.

Under the MoU, the two companies aim to:

  • Develop cutting-edge AI data centers in Saudi Arabia to deliver scalable, efficient cloud-to-edge AI inferencing solutions.
  • Provide advanced data center CPUs and AI solutions from Qualcomm Technologies to power HUMAIN’s AI cloud infrastructure.
  • Accelerate the adoption of HUMAIN’s AI infrastructure through edge devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® and Dragonwing® chips.
  • Integrate HUMAIN’s Arabic LLMs (ALLaM), co-developed with SDAIA, into Qualcomm-powered edge devices to bring hybrid inferencing to a broad range of devices.

The companies also announced a major collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to establish a Qualcomm Design Center in the Kingdom. The center will focus on semiconductor technologies and include training and startup support initiatives aimed at nurturing Saudi engineering talent.

H.E. Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said:

“We thank Qualcomm Technologies for deepening their strategic partnership with the Kingdom. Their collaboration with HUMAIN marks a major step in advancing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in edge-to-cloud AI infrastructure and intelligent compute. Together, we are building data centers and next-generation AI capabilities while laying the groundwork for a vibrant semiconductor ecosystem powered by world-class talent.”

Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, commented:

“Saudi Arabia is making impressive strides toward becoming a global AI leader. We are incredibly excited to help build advanced AI data center infrastructure to launch cost-effective hybrid AI services globally. Our partnership with MCIT to establish chip design capabilities in the Kingdom supports Vision 2030 and we are honored to contribute to this important mission.”

Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, added:

“This agreement is a major milestone in our journey to build a global AI infrastructure hub. It will accelerate Qualcomm’s expansion into data centers while delivering energy-efficient, high-performance computing. Together, we’re enabling the region’s most powerful hybrid AI infrastructure and driving innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.”
