RIYADH – 13 May 2025Humain, Saudi Arabia’s newly launched artificial intelligence initiative, has appointed Tareq Amin as its Chief Executive Officer, aiming to accelerate the Kingdom’s position in AI and build an integrated global digital infrastructure.

Amin, the former CEO of Rakuten Symphony and previously head of digital at Aramco, will lead the company’s comprehensive strategy focused on advanced data centers, intelligent infrastructure, and the development of sovereign AI models to power Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation locally and internationally.

Humain, which was officially launched on 12 May by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in partnership with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), will spearhead the creation of cutting-edge AI applications, including state-of-the-art Arabic large language models (LLMs), as well as next-generation cloud computing and hyperscale data centers.

As part of its launch, Humain entered into a multi-faceted partnership with Nvidia, under which several hundred thousand of Nvidia’s most advanced GPUs will be deployed to build data centers with a planned capacity of up to 500 megawatts over five years. The first phase includes the deployment of Nvidia’s Blackwell AI supercomputer, providing the backbone for training and scaling sovereign AI models.

Humain will also utilize Nvidia Omniverse, a platform designed to usher in the era of physical AI and robotics, enabling human-AI-powered solutions to operate physical environments. The partnership includes large-scale upskilling programs to provide thousands of Saudi citizens and developers with hands-on AI expertise.

Tareq Amin commented on the deal:

“Our partnership with Nvidia marks a bold step in solidifying Saudi Arabia’s leadership in AI and advanced digital infrastructure.”

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, added:

“AI, like electricity and the internet, is essential infrastructure for every nation, and our work in Saudi Arabia will help realize the country’s bold vision.”
