DUBAI, UAE – BitGo, a global leader in digital asset custody solutions, announced today that its Dubai entity, BitGo Custody MENA FZE, has been granted a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license by the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA).

This license enables the company to offer secure virtual asset custody and cold storage solutions to institutional and qualified investors in the UAE.

This announcement follows BitGo’s in-principle approval (IPA) received in January 2025, marking a significant milestone in BitGo’s global expansion strategy to deliver regulatory-compliant services.

With this new authorization, BitGo Custody MENA FZE will provide efficient, secure cold storage custody services from its Dubai base.

Ben Choy, General Manager of BitGo Custody MENA FZE, commented:
“At BitGo, we provide the most secure and scalable solutions for the digital asset economy. A large part of this effort is ensuring we adhere to the highest regulatory standards. Receiving authorization from VARA reinforces our role as a trusted partner for institutional investors and allows us to provide our award-winning services from Dubai.”

Dubai is rapidly establishing itself as a global hub for innovation in digital assets, making it a strategic location for BitGo’s regional growth.

Beyond custody, BitGo continues to establish itself as  a leading global provider of digital asset products and services, having recently secured its position as the world’s largest staking platform by total locked value with $48 billion in assets staked.
