Chinese AI startup Manus AI has raised $75 million in fresh funding, boosting its valuation to $500 million, according to the company’s announcement. The funding round was led by renowned venture capital firm Benchmark.
Manus AI focuses on developing general-purpose AI agents that can perform a wide range of digital tasks such as scheduling meetings and organizing emails on behalf of users.
In March 2025, Manus launched a demo of its AI assistant. While some users pointed out bugs and slow responses, others highlighted its promising potential. Following the demo, the company rolled out paid subscription plans priced between $39 and $199 per month, aimed at users seeking more advanced AI features.
Thanks to this new investment, Manus plans to expand internationally, targeting key regions like the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.
The new round multiplied the company’s valuation by five times compared to its previous fundraising, during which it raised around $10 million from investors including Tencent and HSG (formerly Sequoia China).
This strong mix of Chinese and global investors sets the stage for Manus’s next growth phase, though enhancing product reliability remains critical for competing on a global scale.
