Saudi Aramco, a global leader in integrated energy and chemicals, has announced the signing of a collaboration agreement with China’s BYD, a leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and batteries, to develop innovative technologies in the field of new energy vehicles.
The agreement was signed by Saudi Aramco Technologies Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aramco.
This partnership aims to enhance the development of technologies that support efficiency and environmental performance in the transportation sector, leveraging the expertise of both companies’ research and development teams.
Ali Al-Meshari, Senior Vice President of Technology Oversight and Coordination at Aramco, stated: “The collaboration between Aramco Technologies and BYD builds upon Aramco’s intensive research and development efforts for new energy solutions.
Aramco is exploring various ways to improve the efficiency of internal combustion engines, from innovative low-carbon fuels to advanced powertrain concepts. Our motivation in all these efforts is the belief in the need for multiple approaches to practically support the energy transition, and we are pleased to collaborate with BYD in this field.”
