TruBuild, a Saudi-based construction technology startup founded in 2023 by Bisrat Degefa (CEO) and Dr. Sari Sabban (CTO), has raised $1 million in a Seed funding round.
The round was led by Wa’ed Ventures, the $500 million venture capital arm of Saudi Aramco, and Dar Ventures, the venture capital arm of Dar, with participation from Plug & Play Ventures, OQAL, Taz Investment, and notable angel investor Simon Moon, former CEO of Atkins Middle East. TruBuild also received early backing from Antler MENAP during the Riyadh 2023 cohort.
TruBuild is focused on transforming construction project delivery by tackling a global industry challenge that costs over $1.6 trillion annually due to unexpected project changes, unclear scopes, and miscommunications.
Its AI-powered platform seamlessly integrates with tools used by contractors, consultants, and project owners, enabling early risk detection, automated documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
By embedding intelligence into everyday workflows, TruBuild helps reduce administrative burdens, clarify decision-making, and accelerate tender evaluations, contract awards, and change approvals by up to 80%.
The company’s innovative approach merges advanced Saudi AI research and development with global construction expertise, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 by modernizing project implementation in both public and private sectors. “We’re not here to disrupt for the sake of it; our goal is to make everyday decisions easier through objective data and to help teams avoid the painful surprises they’ve experienced for decades,” said Bisrat Degefa, CEO of TruBuild. “Our platform is like an AI app store—but with unprecedented levels of optimization and personalization. The confidence shown by our new investors, alongside the ongoing support of our existing shareholders, validates our scalable model and transformative approach.”
TruBuild is already in use in projects led by major developers in Saudi Arabia, including Osool Real Estate Company. “TruBuild’s approach is an integral part of our digital strategy, enabling us to execute projects more efficiently,” commented David Watkins, Chief Project Development Officer at Osool Real Estate.
The seed funding will be deployed to enhance product development, expand the team, and drive market expansion both within the Kingdom and globally.
