Cairo-based Rabbit, a hyperlocal quick-commerce startup, has officially launched operations in Saudi Arabia, targeting 20 million product deliveries across major Saudi cities by 2026.

This expansion follows the company’s success in Egypt, where it serves over 1.4 million customers and has delivered more than 40 million orders within 20 minutes or less.

Rabbit has chosen Riyadh as its regional hub for Gulf operations, establishing a network of dark stores in key neighborhoods. These micro-fulfillment centers enable the company to prepare and deliver groceries, cosmetics, and daily essentials in under 20 minutes.

The company has appointed a local team to manage operations, with plans to expand to Jeddah and Dammam.

This move capitalizes on Saudi Arabia’s $60 billion retail market, where e-commerce penetration remains low at 1.3%, compared to 5.3% in the UAE and 4.8% in the US.

Rabbit’s Saudi entry builds on its Egyptian track record, where revenue grew 8.5x over two years. The startup also aims to strengthen its presence in the UAE through its Abu Dhabi office, doubling down on its speed and efficiency model.

Founded in 2021 by Ahmed Yosri, Ismail Hafez, Tarek El-Geresy, and Waleed Shabana, Rabbit is emerging as a key player in Middle Eastern instant delivery.
